Locktober 2026 runs from Thursday 1 October to Saturday 31 October 2026. Locktober is an annual, month-long chastity challenge in which participants wear a chastity device (or practise denial) for all or most of October, often with a partner acting as keyholder. The name first appeared on kink message boards in the mid-2010s, with 2015 usually cited as its first documented use, and the challenge has since spread through Reddit, Tumblr and FetLife.

• Solo with accountability: numbered plastic seals or a timed lock box record any early release.
• Progressive: wear time increases week by week, which is the best option for first-timers (see the plan below).

Whatever format you choose, agree in advance on a safe word, how often you will check in, and exactly when the device must come off for health reasons.

Choosing a chastity cage for a month of wear

If you plan to wear a cage all month for the first time, a lightweight resin cage is usually the more comfortable choice. Steel suits people who already know their size and prefer maximum durability.

How to get the right size

Most discomfort during Locktober comes from the wrong base ring, not the cage itself.

1. Measure when relaxed and at room temperature. Wrap a soft tape or strip of paper around the base of the penis and scrotum together, where the ring will sit, and note the circumference.
2. Choose the ring, then the cage length. The ring should be snug enough not to slip off, but you should be able to slide a finger between the ring and your skin.
3. Use the included ring sizes. Many of our cages come with 4 or 6 ring sizes, so you can test fit before the month starts.
4. Test before 1 October. Wear the cage for a few hours, then overnight. If it pinches, marks the skin or causes swelling, change the ring size.

A safe 4-week plan for first-timers

Move to the next step only if the previous one was comfortable. There is no prize for pushing through pain.

Hygiene during a long lock

• Rinse the cage and skin with warm water and mild, unscented soap daily; a small syringe or shower head helps reach inside.
• Dry thoroughly afterwards; trapped moisture is the most common cause of irritation.
• Take the cage off completely for a proper clean and skin check at least every few days.
• Clean the device with mild soap and water. Steel can also be sanitised with isopropyl alcohol; check the product page for resin care.

Warning signs: when to stop

Remove the device straight away, even if it is the middle of the challenge, if you notice any of the following:

• numbness, tingling, or skin that looks pale, blue or dark
• swelling that does not go down
• pain that persists or gets worse
• broken skin, chafing sores or signs of infection
• difficulty or pain when urinating

Always keep an emergency key where you can reach it. If symptoms continue after removal, see a doctor. If you have a medical condition affecting circulation or sensation, speak to a doctor before trying extended wear.
